JobPay
What is JobPay?
JobPay is a fictional app for freelancers and clients to track work and create and pay invoices all in one place. I would typically base my content and UX writing on a style guide but for this exercise, I was tasked with creating one from scratch.

Style Guide
In this case, I'm not working with other designers, marketing team members, project managers, or developers to bounce ideas and brainstorm. JobPay is an app for communication between professionals. The voice of the app needed to be professional, but not too stuffy. Enthusiastic, but not over the top. Money and feedback are two very sensitive topics. We could be slightly casual and approachable, but not goofy when dealing with those subjects.

The styles for objects like date format, headings, onscreen instructions, and tooltips were based on the voice and tone of the app. I kept things professional but a little casual and friendly.

Onboarding
The flows created by the fictional designers of the app were for onboarding for both users, JobPay from the freelancer's perspective, and JobPay from the business owner's perspective. The onboarding flow included creating an account and encouraging users to stay and use the app.

Freelancer Flow
A freelancer needs to accomplish several tasks:
-
Create a project
-
Invite a business owner
-
Log time
-
Connect an account so they can get paid
-
Create and submit an invoice

Some of the terms have been updated to adhere to the style guide and branding purposes but should still be familiar to how a freelancer works.

Business Owner Flow
On the other hand, a business owner needs to:
-
Accept an invitation to a project
-
See time logged
-
View and pay invoices
-
Message their freelancer

A lot of the work in this flow was making sure that the formatting of hours, dates, and currency was consistent and understandable.
